A cross section of Life Insurance Specialists took part in the ALUCA Industry Certificate Course Pilot, find out what they had to say:

Having been given the opportunity to participate in the ALUCA Academy pilot, I’d highly recommend it to all trainee Underwriting or Claims/Rehabilitation professionals looking to gain foundational industry knowledge, including medical and financial risks, and a better understanding of the Australian market.
I’d also recommend it to any experienced individuals looking to enhance their existing skillset, refresh and update their knowledge or achieve CPLI accreditation with ALUCA.
The Life Insurance Foundational Industry Certificate in Underwriting & Claims Management is broken down into four compulsory modules, and a final fifth module specific to either underwriting or claims. All learning content and the module assessments are easy to access online and are also mobile-friendly, allowing you to study on the move and at your convenience.
I found the module on Legislation & Regulatory Framework to be of great relevance considering the amount of legislative and regulatory change we have, and continue to, experience as an industry. It’s really important for us as life insurance professionals to have a strong awareness of these requirements.
What I really loved was the level of interaction, all students were encouraged to communicate online to discuss modules and share any helpful hints. Peers also met regularly over Zoom for sessions with the course mentors and facilitators.
